Hi! I haven't seen anyone from our class for quite a few years.  I have lived in Fl. since 1992. I lived with my mother the last few years of her life. She passed in 2016. I had gotten married in 2014 and my husband moved in with me and my mother. He helped me with her til she went into a nursing facility the last year of her life. Then last year I lost my dear husband he was the love of my life, and I miss him very very much. My son and his wife live in Indy. My daughter and her husband live in Cal. I still work part time at Ace Hardware and am active in my Church.

It is with great sadness that I pass along information of the death Joyce Brown Kutzavitch.  She passed away April 2, 2017 in Fountain Hills, AZ.  She was loved and respected by the many students she taught through her years at Decatur Central High School.  Two of those students were with her when she passed away.  Below is a facebook post from one of them. "As so many of you saw in an earlier post today former student David Gene Moscrip, his fiancé Jenny Barnes and myself were at her bedside when former Decatur teacher Joyce Kutzavich left this world and was promoted to Heaven. I spent much time with her these past few months. She was a teacher to the end. As her medical power of attorney, I purchased a legal portfolio so that I could keep all of the documents readily available. One night those papers were in disarray, and as I was talking to her trying to shuffle papers and getting them all straight, she looked at me with "that teacher look" and demanded "Stop fidgeting with those papers!" So I did! Earlier in the process, as she was relating various points of business and details of her treatment, she said "I think you should take notes when I talk so that you don't forget anything." So I did!  For the past several weeks, as I was sitting at her bedside trying to find out how her day went or if anything needed to be done, I sat there and wrote down everything she said. It just made things go better. There was one thread to our discussions over the last couple of months. We talked about her days at Decatur Central. One of the things she says so many times was "I spent my entire life being a teacher. I would like to think when it's all said and done that I made a difference, that I challenged my students how to think and express themselves."I told her from the depths of my heart "Mrs K, you will never know just how many of us you touched, how many of us you were affected for the entire rest of our lives. You did well, you really did." There will come a day when we can discuss Mayan ruins, and "shoes, and ships, and sealing wax, and cabbages and Kings" again. I will be eternally grateful for being asked to try to return the favor and be there for her in what amounted to be some of her last days. Rest well dear lady, thank you for everything. I'll see you again."

I went to the Saturday night social hour and loved seeing old friends and aquaintances.  I appreciate all of the time and effort by everyone to bring it together.  I was also happy to see, again, so many old school mates from school 53.

I attended the ten year reunion under the last name of Cosgrove.  I was divorced in 1988 and then remarried in 1992.  I have lived in several different states in the last 50 years. I have two children, five grandchildren and two great grandsons.  I have been able to reconnect with two of my best girl friends this year.  I'm still trying to find Georgia Stewart Trissell and Brenda Rockhold.  I want to thank all our classmates who served in the armed services in whatever capacity.  I'm proud of all of you. It's really sad to see how many of  our classmates have passed.  We are still young!  Looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend.  Go Golden Knights.

CNN has been featuring a great runup to the reunion....the 60's. It's kinda neat to see how our class lived through the myriad of cultural changes, and yet most of us seem to have been pretty resiliant and not adversely affected by the convulsions of the 1960's. The documentary about the Radio Wars which was rolled out a couple of years ago would be an excellent piece for all of us to view....it chronicled the WISH/WNAP battles for airtime and for youth cultural dominance. Ot's a great time to be alive, and to look in the rear view mirror once in a while. Thanks, Marv and committee for re-energizing for all of us the great memories of the good old days.

I was given information about this website from a classmate from our AHS Class of 1969 regarding the faculty memorials.  I started looking at some of the other things on here.  What a wonderful website you have created and maintained!  I am hopeful we can locate someone to help our class start a similar site.   Thanks for sharing all this information and the wonderful memories they evoke.

I can\'t tell you how much I enjoyed the cocktail party and reunion.

The best part was seeing all of my old and new friends from the class of  \'65.  The funniest part was the sprinklers turned on when we were posing for the reunion photo.   I got drenched ...but it was funny!

Hope to see all of you at the 50th.  In the meantime, if you have any leads on "lost" classmates, please email, write or call me.

I was in the Army and in Vietnam and attended several colleges afterward including Butler. Hope to her  from you

It  was good to catch up on some of my classmates.  I just retired from teaching and enjoying the freedom.  Today, Aug. 9th, is my 41st wedding anniversary.  I celebrated by holding my 1 day old grandson.  He has a 4 1/2 year old brother  and same age cousin.  They are the light of my life.  I am sorry to have missed the reunion.  I plan to attend the one in 2015.

Thanks to all who worked so hard in planning our reunion.  It was wonderful to see "old" classmates again.  For those who have not returned to Arlington since our graduation, you would be very pleasantly surprised!  I am so glad I did the tour - our "brand new" school looks wonderful and has not changed much.  Looking forward to the next reunion - it would be great to include the first two graduating classes as well.  Also, thanks, Ryan, for all your work on the website!

I am the current Athletic Director and Boys Basketball Coach At Arlington high School. I want to thank all the wonderful people I met from the Class of \'65. I hope everyone appreciates the time and effort put in by the committee to put on your reunion. I have been to many reunion events over the years and this I have to say was the best I have ever seen. If any of you want to stay in touch with me please feel free. I enjoy researching what went on back in the day! I have been in school since I was 5 years old. The last 20 years I have spent here at Arlington so I feel a strong connection to you. On behalf of Dr. Greenwood and Myself again I say thanks for your hospitality.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the respect and kindness shown to my brother, Steve, at the cocktail party on Friday. He really enjoyed it. Special thanks to Marv, the current athletic director and wrestling coach at Arlington for the wrestling trophy ceremony. Steve was deeply touched by it; as was I. You should be proud of your class for all they have accomplished and how well you have all hung together for reunions throughout the years. I\'m envious as our class reunions have pretty much fallen by the wayside over the years. Keep up the good work and please invite us oldsters again.
Thanks,
Chuck

Marv,  I know the committee has done everything they can to make this a spectacular event this week.
I wish I could be there.  It will be great, and I will miss seeing everyone.
Please use my two reservations for someone else, who might not have the funds to use them.   I hope someone else can go in my stead and have a great time.

What a wonderful web site.  Kudos to Ryan and Marv!  I probably won\'t make it to the reunion and hate to miss all the fun I know you will have.  Just want to say that although I struggled with classes at AHS, when I got to Ball State, the academics were so much easier due to the great teaching and curriculum we had in high school.  Even sciences which were challenging on the college level, were do-able with the background I got in high school.  Thanks to all those teachers!
