Have lived in beautiful Vancouver, B.C. for over 50 years. Had a bookstore for some time then worked for 27 years for a local public library system (ran a small branch, then was a supervisor, in charge of computer files in the Reference Dept.) until retired. Married for over 40 years with one married daughter and one granddaughter. I am currently working on a memoir of sorts covering the 60's. Arlington certainly played its part! One of the class geeks, in all those fun clubs for like-minded: Chess, Science, German, Classical Music. Anyone remember these? Fond memories of many great teachers, including Mr. Johnson in English Mr. Shade in Gertman, and Mr. Underhill. Hope you are all doing well, although doubt anyone recalls me. Note: I graduated in Jan. 1965, went straight to I.U., so missed the June grad.

I'm Charlie Weddell. After high school, I attended Citrus College in California until I joined the US Army.  I served in the US, Germany, and VietNam for nearly 4 years.  After returning home I met the love of my life, and we were married in 1971.  We have two children and two adorable granddaughters.  We enjoy traveling and have been to all 50 states and several countries.  I spend my time gardening, church activities, and lots of the time with the grandkids.  Life is good!

 

Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman, Master's in Business from Purdue Krannert School.  Worked 33 years for Timken Company (bearing manufacturer) in Ohio, North and South Carolina and England.  Married for 45 years on August 15, 2015 to Susan.  We enjoy our 2 grown up kids and their spouses, travelling, major league baseball, NASCAR, concerts and life in general! 

Had my own business for over 20 years. Love to play golf when I can. My wife JoAnne and I like to travel the states. Have 4 Grand Children expecting another in August, also have 4 Great Grand Children.

 

Graduated from Ball State in 1969..taught school for several years . I have been living in Columbus and selling real estate for the last 26 years.  Married 32 years to Nick Zettler..together we have 4 children and 4 granddaughters.  We are not retired and have no plans to do so completely, although we travel as much as we can. We  enjoy boating, scuba diving, skiing , playing bridge, spending time with our children and grandchildren.

Staying active, whether it be physically or mentally, is the key to a good retirement.  Fortunately, I have been blessed to continue doing the things I enjoy.  For me, jogging has been a great workout and the best mental release.  Downside, I've gotten slower and the knees are a little problem, but the results are pretty much the same as they were 30+ years ago.

The most wonderful blessing in my life is my son and his beautiful wife.  Plus, I have two of the most absolutely adorable and lovable grand-dogs.  I spend a lot of time with, as we call them, "the girls".  The unconditional love is truly a gift.

I've always been an outdoors person.   An early morning run, a camp fire, a boat ride, a walk along the beach or a drive through the mountains...........the mind can really wonder.

 

IU grad, have been a bank examiner, CFO, stockbroker and corporate banker. Have three beautiful grown daughters, all married and three grandsons to date. Married 11/2012 to Yolanda Camacho.  

We enjoy time with our family, traveling,  and my motorcycle! Each day is truly a blessing. The older I get, I find the only things I have control over is my weight and attitude!

 

I went on to graduate from Ball State with a degree in elementary education.  I met my husband there and we moved back to his native Nebraska.  I taught kindergarten, preschool and did substitute teaching between babies.  We retired three years ago and moved to Lincoln ~ its a little closer to Indiana!  We love to travel and spend time with the grandchildren.

 

Hard to believe I have been in Illinois for 35 years and I have been in insurance all that time.  Harder to believe is that the same women has put up with me for 38 years.  We have 2 daughters and two grandchildren.   Retirement is close and a new chapter in life will begin.  But for now I am enjoying my grandkids, golf and traveling.

 

Yes, I went from H.S. to the USAF upon Graduation. I volunteered for Vietnam and set foot down at Saigon 12/66. I did a 2nd hitch in the US ARMY and served as an MP.I was stationed in Seoul South Korea, New Mexico, and Wiesbaden Germany.

I served in the U.S. Navy from 04/66 to 01/70. I was stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington. I was assigned to the following air squadrons: VAH 123, VA-123, And VA-52 as an Aviation Machinist Mate- 3rd Class Petty Officer. I did one tour to Viet Nam aboard the U.S.S. Coral Sea.  

Married Gloria Hankins, a 1964 Arlington grad, in 1971. I have two daughters and two grandchildren. I retired from General Motors after 30 years.I now live near Patoka Lake, Indiana and I enjoy boating and being close to Mother Nature. 
 

I served in the Indiana National Guard (1970-1976), along side Masao, from our class and former VP Dan Qualye, not from our class.  I only mention my military service to help keep the history of that era intact.  Virtually all 1965 male high school graduates had to face the possibility of unwanted induction into military service as a result of being "Drafted".  I know several Arlington Grads, besides myself,  who chose entering into the National Guard for a six (6) year military service commitment, for the sole purpose of avoiding the strong possibility of being sent to the war in Vietnam.  I visited Vietnam in January, 2010 and was warmly received by the Vietnamese.  Today Vietnam is a Communist country, yet it has close ties to the US   Many Vietnamese today stated to me that they want to thank the US citizens who protested against the war, which helped end the war. 

 

Olga and I retired two years ago and have settled in the historic district of Jonesborough, TN (the oldest town in TN) on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I do some consulting, golf, gardening and oil painting.



My business career was in international finance and marketing and I was fortunate to travel and work in over 45 countries around the world.

My life has been blessed.   I went to Ball State, majored in business and met my future wife Tana.  We have been married for 40 years this April and have two kids and six grandchildren.

My career has been in human resources most spent with Central Soya in Fort Wayne. When the company was bought in 2003 I went into HR consulting.

We love our church and the lake; we have a place on Jimmerson..

 

I retired after 26 years with DoD and I am having thee time of my life!  Its like one big Summer Vacation.  I have 3 children, 9 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandsons. 

 

I have lived all over the country (and even outside the country) during my adult life; but I have finally come home to Indianapolis for good, and bought a house here.  It feels wonderful to be "back home in Indiana". 

 

Have enjoyed a tremendous life:  Purdue grad;  married for 40 years before divorcing;  three children, all college grads and quite successful, five grandchildren.  Retired from 30 years as Vice President of Ameritech (now AT&T).  Followed by 10 years as President / CEO of two educational technology not-for-profits I established.  Finished with three years as a Harrison College Campus President. Still very active in education with various boards and with church leadership.   Have lived all my life in Indy except for a 4 year trek through Washington as a lobbyist.  Love golf, Colts & Boiler football - basketball games, reading, vacations with friends and church fellowship.  Also love to hear from classmates!

 

I graduated from Purdue University in 1969. I had a small business for 40 years. Married Stephanie Trausch in 1992, giving me 2 stepchildren and now 5 grandchildren. We still live on White River north of Broad Ripple. I still have Gearheads open 2 days a week. We sell diecast cars and auto racing memorabilia.

 

After graduating from Purdue, I married Steve Davis, class of 1963. I taught in IPS before having children and then moving to Naperville, Illinois, followed by a move to Ohio.  After 3 years in Ohio, we moved to Valparaiso, Indiana where we have remained for the last 25 years. We are fortunate that our 2 children and 4 grandchildren live close so we can spend lots of time with them. Retirement has kept us busy. Don"t know how we ever found time to work. Ha

I was the first Arlington graduate to return and teach in 1969. Later I taught at Howe, Carmel, Brebeuf and Hamilton Southeastern.  I retired in 1994 and at the present time I farm about 400 acres in southern Indiana.  My wife and myself currently spend winters in Inverness, FL.  My son resides  in Mesa, AZ and a daughter in St. Petersburg, FL

 

We were the luckiest teenagers in history! A sparkling new high school, fabulous teachers and a myriad so classes from which to select~ Cruisin' Teepee, boppin' to a cool new group called the Beatles, the Beachboys, Lake Schaffer, --What a wonderful time!

 

I worked in the sheetmetal trade for 19 years before starting my own business that is now run by our son Brad.
In 2003 my wife ,Chris, and I started traveling the country by motorcycle and have ridden in every state except for 2 that we plan to visit this summer.
We have 3 sons and 6 grands sons.

 

I spent 20+ years in the US Air Force as a pilot, primarily in the U-2, based in Northern California but flying in several locations around the world. I have over 1,500 flying hours in the U-2 and over 5,000 flying hours total. I was also attached to the United Nations for a year, stationed in Lebanon. I retired as a lieutenant colonel.

Hello All, in 2009 I retired from working 37 years in the worlds largest cereal factory, with most of my time on the Aunt Jemima Syrup line. My wife Terry and I  have two boys and 2 girls with 8 grand children and one greatgrandson. After graduation my family moved the Iowa where we have been ever since. We are now enjoying Retirement

 

I'm still thankfully retired.   Am free to travel and do whatever I choose.  That's a really nice place to be in.  Am still getting my house together -- painting, new flooring, etc. -- and enjoy doing all those "house" things!  Spend fun time with my niece's three children who adore their Aunt Karel!  I can certainly tell I'm aging though -- three young ones really wear you out!

Am really looking forward to this reunion -- it's just hard to believe that we all graduated 50 years ago!   Am  going to miss seeing a few of you who won't be here -- but hopefully you'll be here in five years! 

Congrats to the reunion committee -- you've done an outstanding job again!  Thanks for all your hard work!

Graduated as an engineer from Purdue and worked 35 years for Cummins in Indiana, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, North Carolina and back to Columbus, Indiana.

Susan (a mental health practitioner) and I have been married 36 years and have two wonderful daughters.

I'm enjoying retired life including my grandson and lots of sailing.

 

It has been a good life so far! Yup some rotten times, but then we all have those. Some great times too! Got in a tour of military duty, raised two boys on my own (first marriage was one of those rotten times) current marriage is the best of times. Served as Federal employee for 32+ years and retired (add another 6 years in private industry jobs before that). Arlington prepaired me well to face adulthood and the responsibilities that goes with it. I'd write a book but then who would read it? Hi to one and all, wish I could party with you, have a drink for me and toast the class of 65 into a happy twilight.

 

Former journalist.  Subsequently spent many years as a speechwriter and communications advisor in high-tech and government.  Also an avid old-time five-string banjo player.  After several years performing at folk festivals and coffee houses across Canada, I now spend much of my leisure time learning new tunes (lately on fretless banjo) and teaching clawhammer banjo at the Ottawa Folklore Centre.

 

I will not be attending the reunion, but I'm sure everything
will be something special.  You all do such a great job!
